1 Injection, Once a Month
SIMPONI® requires fewer injections under the skin than the selected TNF blocker biologic medicines in moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA), active psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and active ankylosing spondylitis (AS). * Keep in mind that, as shown below, while how often you take a medicine matters, there are other important factors to consider. SELF-INJECTION OPTIONS
SIMPONI® Offers 2 Easy-to-Use Injection Options
If your doctor decides that you or your caregiver can give your injections at home, you will need to be trained on the proper way to self-inject SIMPONI® directly under the skin. Once you've learned how to self-inject, you can do it at home. Always read the Instructions for Use before using your SIMPONI® SmartJect® injector and each time you get a refill. There may be new information.
SmartJect® Autoinjector Specially Designed With Patients in Mind
The SmartJect® autoinjector is specially designed to help you self-inject—without ever having to see the needle. The SmartJect® autoinjector has
an easy-to-grip, oval-shaped body and a button on the side that takes only a simple squeeze to inject SIMPONI® under the skin.
Other built-in features include:
- A thin needle that remains hidden throughout the injection process
- A safety sleeve that has to be pressed firmly against the skin for the medicine to inject
- A yellow indicator that appears in the viewing window when you have finished injecting to let you know the autoinjector has worked properly

As with the SmartJect® injector, if your doctor decides that you or a caregiver may be able to give your injections of SIMPONI® at home, you should receive training on the right way to prepare and inject SIMPONI® using the prefilled syringe before attempting to inject. Do not try to inject yourself until you have been shown the right way to give the injections by your doctor or nurse.
Always read the Instructions for Use before using your SIMPONI® prefilled syringe and each time you get a refill. There may be new information.
