DOSING

1 Injection, Every 4 Weeks After 2 or 3 Starter Injections Depending
on Weight

Children with ulcerative colitis will receive SIMPONI® as an injection under the skin (subcutaneous injection)
with the prefilled syringe. Use SIMPONI® exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will tell you how
much SIMPONI® to inject and when to inject it.

The recommended SIMPONI® subcutaneous dosage for children weighing at least 33 pounds (15 kg) with
moderately to severely active UC is based on body weight as shown in the table below:

  • For pediatric patients weighing 15 kg or greater, administer the appropriate dose using the prefilled syringe (50 mg/0.5 mL or 100 mg/mL)

SIMPONI® requires just 12 maintenance injections under the skin every 4 weeks after 2 or 3 starter injections
during the first year of treatment. Humira® (adalimumab), another TNF blocker, requires twice as many
maintenance injections during the first year of treatment.
